Julian Michael Wain - Biographical Details

• Born in Birmingham in June 1963
• Educated at Alcester Grammar School and Leicester University from where he obtained second class honours in Law in 1984.
• Worked in the Housing Department of Stratford-on-Avon District Council from 1984-1987.
• Joined Solihull MBC in 1987 and worked in a number of roles becoming Strategic Director in 2002. Responsibilities included housing strategy, planning, economic development, regional affairs, and regeneration. He led the establishment of the innovative North Solihull Regeneration partnership delivering new homes, schools, community and commercial facilities in North Solihull.
• Chief Executive of Gloucester City Council since 2nd April 2007.
• He has particular interests in regeneration and the economy, the creation of high performing organisations, and in promoting and communicating about places.
